On April 1st, 2020, we transitioned our church from being a campus of a multi-site church to becoming our own independent congregation. Days before we officially transitioned, we announced that because of the current pandemic we would be closing our building & transitioning everything we do online. It's hard to believe, but Our Church, Anthem Church, has been in existence now for close to two months without ever holding a physical gathering!
Needless to say, & I can imagine you feel the same way, I have been in some unchartered leadership territory in my life. There are situations pretty much every day right now where I feel like I am in over my head & don't have enough wisdom to lead people through this.
I have found over the past few weeks, while this season has been trying on so many different levels, one unexpected blessing has been such a fresh reliance on Christ. And this reliance has led me to daily pray this prayer. My prayer in this season is from the words of Solomon found in 2 Chronicles 1:10,
Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?”
Solomon asked the Lord for wisdom to lead the people he had been entrusted to lead well. That has been my daily prayer in this season, & I would encourage you to make that your prayer as well. Think through the people The Lord has entrusted you to lead whether that's your kids, your family, your business, your department, your ministry, or your church, and ask The Lord for wisdom to lead the people He has entrusted you with well.
Will you pray this simple prayer with me today? Lord, give me the wisdom to lead your people well.
Uncharted is well said. Everything that we thought would be, just stopped.
Pastor, look at the amazing team that got us up and streaming Anthem! I can’t imagine what your heart is feeling right now or the stresses that are presented. But i/we will pray in agreement that God gives you/ us wisdom to lead. As we move through this unknown territory. To God be the Glory! Thank you.
