Over the few days, we have walked through the amazing story of Jesus giving Bartimaeus sight. We have seen in Bartimaeus a blueprint on how to pray breakthrough prayers:
Persistence when people tried to silence him.
Specificity when Jesus asked him what he wanted.
Faith in the One who could make it happen.
Now it’s your turn! Below is a prayer you can pray today. Make it your own. Declare it in faith. Pray it like breakthrough is on the way—because I believe it is!
A Breakthrough Prayer:
Jesus, I believe You’re the same yesterday, today, and forever. You are not just a good man—You are God! And I believe You hear me when I call on Your name. So today, I call on your name Jesus. I’m coming to You not with performance, but with persistence. Not with perfection, but with desperation.

I’m not afraid to ask boldly, because I know You are able. You are my healer, my restorer, my provider. You are a miracle worker. And, I trust you completely!
Even if I have to ask again and again…Even if I have to cry through the crowd…I will not stop calling on Your name Jesus. I believe my breakthrough is closer than I think. I believe You are near. And I believe that something shifts when I call on Your name.
So today, I pray…In the mighty, miracle-working, chain breaking, matchless name of Jesus—Amen.
The Blueprint for Breakthrough
You’ve got the blueprint now....
Pray with persistence.
Pray with specificity.
Pray with faith.
This my friends is how you pray breakthrough prayers - prayers that move heaven & shake the earth. Let’s not just pray about things—let’s pray through them.
This devotional was inspired by a portion of a message I preached called "Fix It, Jesus." Check out the full message here!
